Rotary Kiln Technology
Trucks and dumpers transfers the RPC from dock area to the unloading area within the plant boundary. The RPC is fed on fixed-type Feed Plate by Pay Loaders. The discharge from the Feed Plate is again fed to an Inclined Conveyor for feeding the Roll Crusher. The Conveyor carries the material to the Screening & Crushing Building. RPC is then crushed to the required size in a Double Roll Crusher and is fed to another Conveyor. The crushed RPC is then conveyed to the RPC Silos by a system of an Inclined and Reversible Conveyor. The Rotary Kiln is fed from RPC Day Bins through Conveyors. Calcinations of RPC takes place within the Kilns where Moisture, Volatile Matter and Impurities in RPC are liberated and molecular change takes place to produce Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC).
The hot CPC coming out from the Kiln is then cooled in a Rotary Cooler by spraying water. The CPC coming out of the Cooler is then sent to the Bagging Bunkers in the CPC go down via Conveyor. The Cooler Discharge Conveyor stores the material in three Storage Bunkers.
